About the Owners

Bonnie's sewing started with watching her mother sewing at an old straight stitch Singer sewing machine.  She took a semester of sewing in high school economics, but otherwise is self-taught.

She quickly discovered a love of creating costumes and historical clothing.  About 1995 she began making clothing and costumes to sale to others.

Since then, Bonnie has spent countless hours researching historical sewing techniques, patterns, and resources.

Although she has sewn from many different time periods, Bonnie confesses she is still enamored with clothing from the Renaissance and Victorian eras.

Wesley spent several years involved in fashion photography in Florida.  After "burning out" and putting the photography on hold, Wesley moved back to Texas and opened a small studio.

He met Bonnie through a mutual business contact.  They found they had much in common; their relationship became more than just fashions used in photography shoots and the two were married.

Wesley had spent years making clothing look like it fit models for a photo session, but soon purchased a sewing machine and began altering and creating clothing.  Now he is equally at home both producing and showcasing the garments.

Finding he liked the challange of producing both a comfortable and supportive garment, Wesley has specialized in creating made to measure corsets.

Elizabeth joined the SkyRidge Designs team in 1999.

Initially, Elizabeth was confined to modelling.  Additionally, she provided valuable insight into garment design (incidentally, all gromments and fastenings should be on the BACK of a toddler's outfit) and comfort level of our children's clothing.

Soon Elizabeth was introduced to product testing.  Not only did our clothing have to look good, it had to meet the demands of children.  Thanks to her efforts on the playgrounds, we've discovered which seams need to be reinforced and where we need to allow extra room for growth.

Although not yet a full time duty, Elizabeth is also proving to be a very persuasive saleman.

Catherine joined the SkyRidge Designs team in 2007.

Catherine remains engaged in product testing.  She is specifically inclined to test the durability of our "wash and wear" children's line.
