This medieval gown features square neckline and
is a classic garment of the medieval period.
Neckline and sleeves can be left plain or decorated with
braid and trims. The blue kirtle, shown below, has decorative oversleeves attached.
Although ladies
in the medieval period would not have worn petticoats, we have photographed several kirtles over petticoats to display the
fullness of the hemline. Girdles (decorative belts) belts should be worn and are featured on our "accessories" page.
The
gown closes with back lacing.
