A basic shirt such as this was worn by working class men.
It is suitable for several different
historical periods, especially when paired with other garments & accessories, and is a very practical base garment for
theater groups.
The shirt is gathered into a bound neckline and has plenty of fullness for easy movement.
The neck can be left open or can be tied shut, close with a single button, or be laced together through either
buttonholes or grommets. The sleeves can be gathered into small cuff or be given an elastic wrist.
