Girl's Underpinnings

Children/Child_FarthingaleWM.jpg

Historically, children had undergarments similar to their parents...just smaller.

Yes, even young children wore corsets.  Child's corsets were not the same as adult corsets; they started as a firm garment designed to promote good posture and support the weight of skirts & petticoats.  As the girls grew older, the corsets started shaping the torso to reflect the ideal sillouhette of the era.

We can create most of our garments, including underpinnings, in child sizes, and can provide some historical references for accuracy.

Depending on fabrics and trims selected: girl's chemises start at $45; girl's corsets start at $40; and girl's farthingale start at $50.
